Specialisation: Medical biotechnology

In this specialisation of the MSc-program Biotechnology, you are able to concentrate on medical applications in biotechnology, such as vaccines and medicines. However, the approach greatly differs from the usual approach in veterinary or medical science. The student will mainly concentrate on the development and optimalisation of biotechnological methods, which are relevant in diagnosing diseases and in the challenge of processes that give rise to diseases. The research in this specific field of the biotechnology mainly focusses on cell biology, virology, immunology, toxicology and the genetic sensitivity for environmental influences.
